Project Updates: Fluor / Exxon Neftgas

In 2014, ProSep was contracted by Fluor to engineer, design, and manufacture a pre-treatment / 4 tube membrane skid package, destined for the Exxon Neftgas Odoptu facility on Sakhalin Island, Russia.

Odoptu, one of three Sakhalin-1 Project fields, is situated 5 to 7 miles (8 to 11 kilometers) offshore northeast Sakhalin Island.  Sakhalin-1 includes the Chayvo and Arkutun Dagi oil and gas fields in addition to Odoptu.  The potential recoverable resources for the three fields are 2.3 billion barrels (307 million tons) of oil, and 17.1 trillion cubic feet (485 billion cubic meters) of natural gas. The current estimated daily production at Sakhalin-1 is over 200,000 barrels.

Since startup, the Sakhalin-1 Project has produced over 240 million barrels (32 million tons) of oil for export to world markets. It also has been a key supplier of nearly 180 billion cubic feet (over 5 billion cubic meters) of associated natural gas to customers in Khabarovsk Krai, in far eastern Russia, to heat homes and meet growing energy needs. The harsh arctic climate and difficult geographical conditions of Northern Sakhalin have required ProSep to use a set of unique technologies to create the process solution for Exxon.  The ProSep package for purge gas dehydration consists of a coalescing filter and hollow fiber gas dehydration membranes, along with the instrumentation, insulation, and controls necessary to operate the system reliably in those harsh Russian conditions.   The system is capable of handling inlet gas production flow rates of 1.88 MMSCFD.  It was designed for an operating pressure of 8680 kPAG, but will operate at 3500 kPag, and a lower range design temperature of -40⁰C, but will comfortably operate at temperatures as high as 37⁰C.
